On this page you will find all the information that you need to know before you get a ticket for our MILSIM
OP GROUNDHOG
Just a short note about us as an event Crew.
We have a goal to host a MILSIM where you as the player are provided the opportunity to have a unique experience, but we as organizers try not to micromanage you as a player, and therefore we cannot guarantee the experience you will have.
Mainly because we cannot control the behavior of every player at the event.
The most important note is that we don't force combat situations into the game. When we plan the event and missions, we focus on the friction of battle to provide the necessary environment to let naturally occurring firefights happen.
Event updates-
17/09/2026: Event information posted.
-This event is a bit different from other MILSIM events we have hosted. To be able to tell the story we want to tell, you as the player have to go along with the story and let us carry you to the conclusion, giving you breadcrumbs as we move through the story.
We the organizers, will be non-playing characters in your adventure.
-We are not going to tell you what and how this event will unfold; we will only give you the frame and settings you are working in.
-The game area is of a certain size, and that is on purpose. We want you to feel the intensity of this combat operation and let you experience the joy of close cooperation with other teams, in order to succeed in your part of the operation.
-You will have a chance to influence the outcome of other TEAMs operations, with your inputs. Maybe you have insight into some of their tasks details from one of your operations.
. -The planning window is limited, and the time for chit-chat is even more limited before the operation starts again.
-There will be planned periods where you can rearm, resupply, and rest. But it is expected of you that you field your TEAM when the missions are given. The simple reason for this is that other TEAMS and players are doing their part in giving you a great experience, so you should do the same for them. Breaks and rest will come, so use the time you are given wisely.
-The MILSIM is set in a unique story where you and the rest of your faction, have to figure out the plot and from there solve the main mission objective, while you solve secondary objectives that will open up the main objective. And in turn of events, you will be given the chance to help other TEAMS in their planning.
-Missions: Missions are what you expect of an RSP mission. There is depth and challenges all through the mission.
TEAMs will have up to several MISSIONS at all times; this is to provide flexibility in your planning and mitigate the risk of the "crossroads sickness" one can experience at MILSIM events.
-Objectives: At other RSP events you have experienced that you could take your time in the task solving, and there would be one object or information folder for each TEAM to collect. But at this event the best-prepared TEAM will solve the mission and let the "loosing" TEAM stand empty-handed.
-Combat: Expect a lot of combat. Each mission will be a challenge in its own, where combat is a tool to solve some parts of the problem.
-Coordination: The handlers of each faction will guide TEAMS and be the driving force in coordination; some TEAMS will need to fight hard to let other TEAMS solve their tasks. Always with a clear line of communication to HQ via ATAK and VHF RADIO. HQ will give their best in order to maximize the FACTION effect.
-Planned Rest: Without giving too much of the plot away. We will need to put in two planned rest periods so that all TEAMS are off the field TWICE throughout the event. In this period of time you will have to eat and rest. Before the next mission briefing.
-Pre-game scenario games and open play sunday:
The setup for Operation Groundhog is time-consuming, but to give you as the player an opportunity to have some field time, we changed the standard pre-game period Friday evening, into a pre-event where several small operations are planned; these link into the main event Saturday.
These scenarios should be seen as small special raids, that leads up to the main operations, Saturday morning.
The missions are interlinked, and intel found on raids can be helpfull in your TEAMs operations later. Each operation will be time limited. We will have small breaks between each mission.
You could use these missions to get COMMS and so on, up and running and do TEAM cooperation drills before the main event. And for the NVG people. More time with the nods.
-Sunday open play is like a normal field day; there will be a game warden running the games in a simple game style so that you can have a bit of fun before you drive home.
-Clean up:
Please take note that if you play as Shield Wall or TLS, there will be no mandatory clean up for this event.
The extraction of artifacts and other valuable items like exposed electronics is in growing demand.
The buyers need local locations to handle and categorize these items. Bigger firms with sanctioned extraction permits, do it through a large facility on the outskirts of Viborg, called
COLLECTION CENTER 8.
But the black market vendors have turned to small local collection sites. Paying a premium for items.
Events leading up to the operation:
In the early morning hours of the 15th of April 2027 a TLS drone, was surveying a suspected non-sanctioned OMICRON collection site, about 20 km west of the Mønsted zone in a small township.
ECHO readings were off the charts.
No civilian activity could be observed.
Operation GROUNDHOG was set to execute on 17/4/2027 at 1000hours
SHIELD WALL
Precursor: April 2027
Operation classification: SECRET.
Overview. Operation codename -PREDAWN-
Task :
- Insertion of observation team via covert transport.
- Set up an observation post IOT determine suspicion of an OMICRON warehouse.
- Map the facility for later artifact recovery mission.
- Report findings after 72 hours of observations.
- Radio silence is to be kept until Report is due.
- Report window 151025BAPRIL2027-151030BAPRIL2027
48 hours before Operation Groundhog.
The signal specialist and the intelligence officer from TEAM TIGER, was setting up the antennas and comms equipment before the field report should be sent, when they observed something blinking in the sky to the south of them. A drone!
Thomas the intelligence officer quickly realized what was happening. TLS has its eyes on the objective as well. The plan and all the intel that was gathered were of no use now. A stealth mission was not an option any longer.
Thomas quickly changed the title of the file that was to be transmitted in mere seconds. To The site is exposed; stealth is not an option . "An error occurred during the naming of this document. "Please follow this guide to resolve your issues" The screen blinked.
DAMMIT!! Thomas's hissed. 25 minutes to our transmission window, the signal specialist said.
Thomas typed in the text again, removing the ; from the name.
The computer accepted. Thomas hit the send key. This needs to go out now!!
The radio clicked twice, and a connection was established. A short, high-powered data burst spiked the spectrum. Unaware of what motion of events they had just triggered, they relocated back to their observation post.
In Shield Wall HQ the signal was received, unpacked, analysed and 5 QRF TEAMs called up to form a taskforce. Mission; Secure the facility before any other sanctioned firm could lay their stake on the property, by using the the newly issued Danish law regarding unlawfull handling of artifacts.
Trade L Secure
Precursor: April 2027
Operation classification: SECRET.
Overview. Operation codename -SKYCLAW-
Joan was manning the UAV flying at high altitude far to the south of the objective. She and her copilot chose this flight path to get a glimpse inside the warehouse, but a van was blocking the view. As Joan banked the aircraft to get some lift, a sunflare pierced the the case protecting the sensitive optic. Unaware, she was spotted by several trained soldiers and a PMC on the ground. She started the flight path going West to East.
The Higher up's had alrady taken the decision to launch a raid against the compound. This decision was made as soon as she reported the ECHO readings and that there were no civilians; her boss's eyes lit up. She knew he tasked a significant force to claim the compound. He was not going back into the zone again; he had made that so clear last time a raid was a success. He did everything to keep the numbers up on his operational success score.
She was spotting for any signs of gophers, that was what they called the couriers moving goods, from the Zone drop off points and to the unmarked collections sites. The upcoming operation was called Groundhog as a mockery of the gophers, that was for sure, so she thought to herself.
She knew this would be her last chance to spot anything of use. So she turned on the LIDAR again; she checked her watch. 10:00, shit, need to turn back. If she could just get some more details on the center of the building. This was the last chance; as soon as the task force moved in, no cameras were allowed.
Not even the firm's own.
Important note for OPFOR.
You will be playing the part of a security detail hired to protect the facility. You will have missions like the other Factions, but much more combat oriented.
When signing up for OPFOR you will have to help the CREW in setting up before the event and packing down after.
You are expected to arrive Friday and estimated time of departure is Sunday at 1300.
OPFOR- OMRICRON SECURITY DETAIL
Precursor: April 2027
John was making the daily rounds. Nothing to report. Boring as F. But sure beats having to hide inside the ZONE like some criminal surviving on scraps, he thought to himself.
After the downfall of the resistance back in August last year, a lot of resistance fighters turned into either Zone Runners, guns for hire or this, the last option...
Marked as rebels, they were unable to live a normal life, so this was the best alternative, John thought, watching his wristwatch, 09:58, one hour until lunchbreak.
Inside the building something was going on, a lot of activity; last night a special shipment was delivered. The doctor with the weird accent was all over the place. No one could use the radio or any electronics at all. John was instructed that morning to be certain all power outlets were unplugged and all power circuits were switched to off.
The weird thing was that inside LAB 4, as he'd made his rounds, you could see there was light and computers buzzing.
What's that? He thought to himself. What's that blinking in the sky?
A drone!! He ran as fast as he could to alert the other guards to take drone precautions. Running past LAB 4 he was certain he heard the doctor yell, "NO STOP!!" But that wasn't for him, was it?
At this MILSIM there will be used four supplementary rules that is to be used together with our normal rules.
-MEDICS-
Experimental drugs
The MEDIC will be issued a pack of experimental drugs, he can administer a few limited times in each operation, equal to the amount of injector pins he has been issued. These injector pins will be handed out by the game organizers together with the Role One equipment.
How they work:
When a player is bleeding out for the last time before moving to the Role One or RSP becuase he used up all of his badages, the medic can use one injector pin on that player. This instantly revives the player, dispensing one pin, and using a special colored streamer on the player. The player now has one last chance. If he is hit again, he still needs to bleed out and then move to a Role one or RSP just as before. He cannot be revived again.
The streamer:
The purpose of the streamer is to let other players and medics know that he is still alive due to the drugs, so that he's not called out for cheating due to misunderstandings. The streamer must be fastened somewhere on the upper body of the player.
Biohazard zones.
If you come upon a biohazard warning sign, you cannot enter that building, room, or area that is behind the barrier, without either using one of the following items.
Precursor drugs:
-Special one time use items found in the game area, put there by the game organizers.
Hint: drugs can be hard to swallow.
CBRN mask:
-A faceguard modded to fit a tube going to an air tank. You have to make this yourself and bring it to the event.
CBRN suit:
This kit can be found in the game area and will let you move into the biohazard area. You will be able to wear your own face protection underneath while using this option. If you choose this option, just keep in mind it was NOT made for tactical operations, so it comes with a catch.
OPFOR players.
The OMICRON security detail that is occupying the site.
These are skilled PMCs and ex-freedom fighters turned mercenary. Their only goal is to survive the firefight, with the intent of killing you in the process.
They know the terrain, but they are limited in numbers.
They can have special rules described to them. And you will be informed if this will affect you.
Face and eye protection.
Please keep the new j. and safety distances in mind when you read this!
There will be a lot of indoor fighting, and we don't want any injuries or players holding back. Possible injuries can be avoided by simple protection measures.
Therefore, closed goggles and faceguards are mandatory throughout the event.
If you have issues with fog, we strongly advise using a Novritsch thermal lens.
A faceguard only needs to cover your teeth.
At this MILSIM if you play either Trade L Secure or Shield Wall, you will have no limits on what you can bring into the off game camp or with you on missions(except for BB's as per our standard rules).
But you must follow the guidelines on where you can pitch your camp.
