Our vison
We have a goal to host a MILSIM where you as the player is given the opportunity to have an unique experience, but we as organizers try not to micromanage you as a player and therefore we cannot guarantee the experience you will have.
Mainly because we cannot control the behavior of every player at the event.
Our experience in hosting events, lay in an untold amount of events between the years 2000 and 2012 where we helped build up the Danish MILSIM scene.
Since April 2025 we have been hosting MILSIMs set in our interpretation of the ROADSIDE PICNIC universe.
In our professional line of work we do planning and execution of said plans on a daily basis.
We work hard and are mindful about our communication to you as a player.
At each event there will be a number of factions you can register for. These factions appeal to different types of players and to what you would like to experience at an AIRSOFT EVENT / MILSIM EVENT.
Each faction is split up into TEAMs, that are composed of several airsoft Squads.
Here you can read a brief summary of what the three common factions have as their main focus. Above is a task description; we would call this a simple mission; more complex and difficult missions are to be expected. Depending on the faction you join, please read the event info for more in-depth information regarding missions and scenarios for an upcoming event
TASKS:
-Limited stationary tasks.
-Direct combat tasks are linked to more specialized primary objectives.
-Speed and adapted aggressiveness.
-Puzzles and challenging task solutions. You need to think a bit.
What do we expect from you?
-Good field skills are recommended.
-Equipment for combat operations in the dark is recommended.
But you can solve the given tasks without the use of night visions.
-A desire to be part of the story is heavily recommended.
But remember, this is not a role-playing game.
It’s all about the story-driven missions
Camps and facilities;
Depending on the scenario, Shield Wall TEAMs will either set up a patrol base or lay-up positions (TEAM CAMPS). A patrol base is most often just several smaller tents and tarps set up by each TEAM around a center location where the HQ members have their command post. You are expected to carry your equipment with you.
TASK:
-Sometimes stationary tasks.
-Often tasks of an offensive nature.
-Limited tasks that require field skills.
-Some puzzle and time-pressure missions.
-Some specialized TEAMS have more challenging tasks.
What do we expect from you?
-Limited field skills are recommended.
-Ability and skills for solving tasks in the dark are recommended,
but not a requirement.
-It is recommended that you have experience from other MILSIM’s.
-For the player who wants to be challenged by solving tasks but does not like to make friends with an anthill while looking at a house.
Camps and facilities;
Depending on the scenario, Trade L Secure TEAMs will either be moved to a FOB (Forward Operations Base). FOBs give some shelter from the elements and will have some basic facilities close by.
Or they will set up a patrol base. A patrol base is most often just several smaller tents and tarps set up by each TEAM around a center location where the HQ members have their command post.
When patrol bases are used, the players are expected to carry their equipment into the field themselves.
TASK:
-Tasks of a defensive nature.
-Offensive tasks in a geographically limited area and time.
What do we expect from you?
-If you choose Knights, you will be playing OPFOR at the game.
-You will be given some pre-game tasks like setting up different objectives and at game end, you will be asked to pack up parts of the game area.
-We expect you to play the role given to you. But in return you will be given cool missions, but remember the missions will not be part of a storyline.
Camps and facilities;
You will be given an area from where you can set up an off-game camp. If possible, you will be located close to basic facilities.
How are they organized?
Before the event, everyone will be divided into TEAMs. These are set by the organizer and are to create a balance between TEAMS and tasks, precisely to create a good experience for everyone during the task and the game.
TEAMS will be composed of people in the order of +/- 8 people. We will NOT split up teams that have registered together if they do not exceed 10 people!
We therefore encourage you to refer to people or teams you would like to play with in your registration. Furthermore, we encourage you to coordinate who can function as
TEAM Leader, Section Commander,
Radio operator,
Primary LMG gunner etc.
Our first TEAM draft in the event info is ALWAYS just a draft, where you can provide your inputs.
This is an illustation of a TEAM that is put together from
several smaller Squads.
-It is expected that you as a player comes to the event with the intention of playing fairly and in the spirit of the game.
-That you behave properly, respect others, the property we play on and the words of the organizers.
-It is expected that you play the game within the framework of the game, as everyone else does. If a conflict with a player arises, that you try to resolve the conflict at the lowest level, if this is not possible, that you are an adult and withdraw, talk to an organizer about it and find a reasonable solution.
We can all get angry and say things.
-It is expected that you are on time and leave when the event ends.
If there is a joint cleanup, you are expected to actively participate in this.
-The most important thing, is that you express your opinion and attitude in a constructive way, so that Roadside Picnic can grow with the help of your feedback.
